Blood loss due to injury with continued bleeding from the time of the accident to the time of arrival of professional care/reaching the hospital has been a serious factor affecting chances of saving the injured. Whether it is a small injury or a big one, it is strongly recommended that blood loss be prevented and bleeding stopped as soon as possible.

SMS has worked on this problem and has developed a few products under the family name of "HeamSeal" to help stop bleeding from any external wound/injury, Heam meaning Blood and Seal to mean stop.

HeamSeal product is a biopolymer application that helps in quick clotting of blood oozing out from external wounds/injuries etc. This biopolymer called chitosan is derived from sea shells. This is used primarily for external wounds.
