During surgery, the surgeon is forced to cut through some body portions to perform his surgical intervention to save the patient. There is collateral bleeding due to this and blood loss needs to be minimized.
Applying biopolymer concepts, SMS has developed a product called Cellulase, that accelerates micro-fibre formation and helps to stop bleeding. These products are being developed as easy to use pads/sheets that can be cut to different sizes as required by the surgeon as and while performing the surgery.
